Late Nights and Thoughts in My Head

... it has been too long...

Here's to the recap!

I love being a Father. Zoë is so amazing. She makes life fun and exciting. I honestly am so blesses to have her in my life. She is growing and becoming a little person with a big personality and she makes me feel like I am so important to her. I am blessed to be a father and to watch my sweet wife be an amazing mother.

I started and finished my first year as a school teacher! Success. I have grown to love being a school teacher. I have grown to love choral music even more, and enjoyed watching the power it can have on a group of people. I have grown to love my kids, most of them, and I am happy so say I can do this again!

I love singing. This year Shani and I had the chance to sing in a professional religious choir, Lux Singers. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and I feel I grew musically.
I am looking forward to the year ahead. Being a father, a 2nd year teacher and a 2nd year member of Lux.

I am planning on applying to the BYU Masters in Music Education this December and well see what is in store there. I am also setting the Goal to do a half Ironman in 2017..... I have high ambitions and therefore will do it. I am sure this next year will be one I won't forget.

To another fantastic year, may I write more here, an sooner!

Sincerely,

Mr. Father. Teacher. Tenor. Triathlete.

Too Blessed to not make a post

I am so brimming with blessings at the moment that I cannot help but post them somewhere, and this felt like a good place.
First off, I am happy to announce that I am the proud father of our baby, Zoë Kay Harper. She is my little angel and has opened a new spot in my heart.
She was born Tuesday, March 25th at 2:16 PM. Weighed 7lbs 8oz. 20 inches long and full of love.
She is now 3 1/2 weeks old, and cute as can be. I am blessed to be a daddy and learn and grow from this wonderful experience.

Second, I am graduating this week and I can't help but show gratitude to the Lord for the amazing things I've been able to do because of this program and all of the fantastic things I've learned. Friday, April 25th I walk across the De Jong Stage to receive my Diploma. !!!

Lastly, I just received a position to teach at Oak Canyon Junior High. I will be the full time Choir teacher and am so stoked to step in to such an amazing program. WOW, I really don't know what to think of feel, I am so overwhelmed with this fantastic news and comfort and am thankful to the Lord for his tender mercies and my family for their prayers and support!

I am a blessed man. Amen.

The Waiting Game

So, I am so excited to be a daddy, and Shani is done being pregnant. We have had a few nights of contractions and felt like it was coming, but it is hard to keep this up. She is tired and so am I.
Well, here's to waiting!

GOOD TIMES

Well first things first, Good News, I got a part-time teaching gig! I am a real, true, blue teacher with a class of my own! I am currently putting lessons together with music and units, and I am loving every minute of it!

Well, I am at the moment, there are some hard elements. 11 kids (3 boys 8 girls) in my advanced choir, and 6 kids (2 boys 4 girls) in my other group. I am still excited to have an amazing experience with these students and to see them really progress and move forward.

The second cool, and exciting thing is WE GOT AN APARTMENT!!!! I am so excited, and we are so blessed to have this experience!

Here's to finding a full-time job and having a baby!

Post-Grad Life

I am in this crazy limbo... I find myself doing projects, organizing my life (things I have wanted to do since I got married), reading books, and last but not least, getting a pay check from a real job. I am a substitute teacher, and it turns out I am pretty good. I have been through the training, and I know how to tell kids I won't take crap. This is a good feeling. I think life is looking up, I mean I have so many amazing and exciting things to look forward to.
The first thing is moving to our own apartment! We have a really good feeling about one that we just applied for and hope it goes through. One of the projects this week was going through all of our stuff and de-junking the not needed and consolidating our packing. This will make the move more manageable.
The second thing is little Baby Girl! She is moving like crazy and I am so happy to be her future daddy! Shani is a trooper and I have been so proud of how excited an maternal she is. I am not surprised, but overjoyed to see this glow about her.
Third, New Job! I am still unsure about the details in this regard, but I have an in with Canyon's School District, & might apply for teach for America.?.

I am so blessed and couldn't ask for more!
Love life!
