I am in this crazy limbo... I find myself doing projects, organizing my life (things I have wanted to do since I got married), reading books, and last but not least, getting a pay check from a real job. I am a substitute teacher, and it turns out I am pretty good. I have been through the training, and I know how to tell kids I won't take crap. This is a good feeling. I think life is looking up, I mean I have so many amazing and exciting things to look forward to.
The first thing is moving to our own apartment! We have a really good feeling about one that we just applied for and hope it goes through. One of the projects this week was going through all of our stuff and de-junking the not needed and consolidating our packing. This will make the move more manageable.
The second thing is little Baby Girl! She is moving like crazy and I am so happy to be her future daddy! Shani is a trooper and I have been so proud of how excited an maternal she is. I am not surprised, but overjoyed to see this glow about her.
Third, New Job! I am still unsure about the details in this regard, but I have an in with Canyon's School District, & might apply for teach for America.?.
I am so blessed and couldn't ask for more!
Love life!

Over the hump.
I AM MORE THAN HALF WAY DONE!
I am slowly getting comfortable in my skin and feel like this it the right profession for me. I had a job interview this week and it went well. It was a preliminary one, but non-the-less it went well.

I Can Do Dis'
I have survived being completely in charge of these choirs for 3 days and I did good. I can do dis'. THIS is a reassuring notion, because I have up to this point doubted myself, but I am feeling super pumped to be an educator. Maybe that is partly because I have a long weekend to unwind, but either way, I did it. If I can do this, I can do anything! Go me. Oh and I'm gonna be a dad!!!!! Super excited!
Shani is doing so great and this baby will be so loved. I love life!

New Month
Wow, I made it through September! Now here comes October. If I can make it through this month, I can do anything! Not that it is too hard. I think I can do this and am excited for the fresh feeling of a new month. This will be a great motto when I am teaching--A New Month! New Beginnings! Love this thought and cannot wait to be a teacher myself. It is hard to love these kids and have no future with them. Here's to the future and the month of October!

Gaining Perspective
I love my Wife. She is able to give me perspective on things I tend to do and things I can improve on. She will make it so that I can balance my career and family and for that I am grateful. I am realizing that I can be the person that takes everything that is teaching related and let it consume all of my time. This cannot be. I need to find time in my day for everything. I need to make sure that I am a well rounded person and that I have my priorities straight. I have set a few goals for this semester and I think they will help keep me on track.
They are:
1. Gain confidence in my decision to be a teacher.
2. Develop my ability to respond to a group.
3. Enjoy what I do.
4. Love the Students.
5. Balance my life.
I want to make sure I keep my life balanced and this is how I will do it. What an amazing world we live in and I look forward to improving my corner of it in whatever way I can.

Rejuvenation
Rejuvenation~ if you would have asked me last week about my semester this Fall I would have rolled my eyes and a mini panic attack inside, but a lot can happen in a week. I now feel like I can do this and that is an amazing feeling. I am actually looking forward to the opportunity to teach and observe and learn. I want to push myself to do great things and I want to enjoy every minute of this experience. I thank God for my ability to have amazing shifts in perspective so that I can see the good and forget the bad. Or most of it. I am so glad that I have found a career that is both something that I enjoy and something that I am passionate about. So, Salem Hills High School, Choir and Drama; here I come! Wish me luck!
