GROWING UP

Well, I am at a crossroads in my life. I am slowly escaping my childhood and slowly entering my life of adulthood. It is an arduous process yet necessary. Though I may be at a "University" studying "grown-up" things, I would still consider myself a child at heart. I reminisce on the foibles of youth and the glorious "teen years" ... well they were interesting.
It is truly sad to let go of a part of me that molds who I am today. Lucky for me I don't have too. All that is required of us is to 'look forward with an eye of faith' knowing that God will provide. I know this is true. I also know that the Lord doesn't want me to forget my past, but to remember it, both the good and the bad. I know I made mistakes, but as Ether, I know that they will only make me stronger and better in the future. I owe my prosperity and success, to the Lord. . . all of it. He is the one who gives me confidence when I am lacking, faith when I can't see in front of my nose and hope when the storm seems never-ending.
I love the future... yes, it has fears... yes it is unknown... but, it is mine. That is what is exciting! I am my instrument through which God can mold to play the tune of eternity. I am the brush through which He will paint the glorious exaltation.well--that may sound a bit preachy, but I know God will use us to build his kingdom(Zion). I am honored to be a part of that!

school. . .

Well it is now or never! I am back to school and it is . . . difficult yet challenging yet, well its rough. I love being at the Y and being blessed with the gospel in my life. I know that the church is true! I love life and that is what is important! I love life and will need the Lords help to do the rest.
Sincerely MR. Hard work!

Life, Texas and the stresses of 22

Well, It has been a while. Let's see? Christmas in Texas was a fun endeavor and a great experience. I am learning my way around that great state and into the life on another family! I had a good time with the Worthen's and Durkovich's. My time in Texas mainly consisted of, meeting family, playing rockband, taking engagement pictures, playing rockband, getting the flu, singing in Emily's ward with the Worthen's, playing rockband, beating rockband, being in love and loving it, playing rockband 2, going to the temple, getting lost on the way, driving to frisco, White Christmas in Texas, gifts, rockband 2 playing and family bonding! I sure felt at home there, that's a good thing!
One thing that I really appreciated was how I was just part of the family. Oh, I also had a birthday in Texas, but that is worthy of another color. and paragraph,
So 22, the age of a man, officially. I will accomplish a lot this year. Starting education towards a future career, Have a Temple Marriage, Live away from home and work to support my self and Shani. But this may all sound big and overwhelming, I am going to look at the bright side: I am going to grow spiritually this year! SO MUCH. I have a lot to learn and a lot to gain but it will be awesome. Basically I want to say how grateful I am that God has so much love for me, even when I am weak and make mistakes. He always seems to look at the good in me and make me feel like I can do anything! What joy feels my heart when I thing of the Love He has for me. I am in awe.
I stand all amazed at the love Jesus offers me. Well, I am to embark on an epic year of big decisions. BYU will be a great experience and at the same time a little nerve racking! We shall see how I feel about that in a few weeks ~~~ I am ready for what life has to throw at me, I will just take things one day at a time.

I am engaged! I Love My Life!
I, Kyle Gregory Harper will be getting Married to Shandra Kay Worthen, June 18th @ 9:40 a.m. in the Salt Lake City Temple. What a joy. I went down to Cedar City this weekend and purposed and she said yes!
Well, here is the story. I drove down to Cedar Friday evening and we spent a lot of time together. She had to leave for a show at 9 and that is when I set up a scavenger hunt around town. We were able to spend the evening together after the show and it was magical. The next morning we went to the St. George temple (11/14/09) and we did baptisms for the dead. Following this we went to In and Out Burger for lunch and then drove back to Cedar. As we drove, there was magic in the air, it was a sunny day and Shani and I were both very happy (and she wasn't aware I would purpose!). When we got back, she commenced preparations to make a mask for her school project. Frantic to start the scavenger hunt, I called Joe Keeler (with whom I had previously arraigned to pick me up and help him "ask a girl to a dance" . . . we then proceeded to start the hunt and I sent the first clue. I told her that I left my phone in the car and I needed her to grab it for me. I had left my keys in my jacket. She then proceeded to the vehicle to find a note on the drivers seat, reading

I have a game, a jovial chase,

To find the treasure in this place.

If you cannot find a clue,

A text or two will get you through.

You’ll use my car, here take the keys.

Now don’t set your nerves at ease.

To start this hunt we shall truly see

Who’s “To be or not to be?”

She runs to a place called the smart people where the next clue reads,

On this quaint stage the tales are told

In summer sun or freezing cold.

Look on the stairway to the west,

Need I say more, you’ll pass the test!

So she quickly runs to the Adams Theater. Where she finds,

Quite fond of this my wee little lass,

Come right on in we’ll pour ya a glass.

Here they’ll dance a jig or two,

For that is what we Irish do!

In the back by the door.

So she then runs to the Pub! Finding a clue leading to Roberto's restaurant.

Hay Mujer come take a seat,

Un Burrito sure is a treat!

Mire nuestro restaurante,

Vamanos, pues adelante!

The clue here led her to the True T-bird site!

Here’s the place if you haven’t heard,

To become a true T-bird!

On this site I had place this next clue!

Here’s where we find a parked car,

2 hours gone, tires on the tar.

To find the next clue and token of love,

Look in the place where you’d keep a glove.

The next clue read.

Once again this place you’ll go

Putting on the big old show.

Listen to this CD # 1 and #2

Get the Smart People, something’s waiting for you!

By the way I love you!

She the proceeded to drive around and listen to the songs and I was patiently waiting for here to meet me at the Smart People.

When she arrived I told her I was in love with her and wanted to be married to her for all eternity, then I got on my Knee and Proposed. She said yes and we hugged for a while!

Following this we went to Wal-Mart and got her a bling ring and we drove around and had a magical afternoon, letting it all sink in. The next day after church we went for a drive and decided that we would get married June 18th 2010 at the Salt Lake City Temple. I scheduled it this morning for 9:20 a.m.

I am the Luckiest man in the World! I am in love with my best friend and will get to spend all eternity with her! I love you Shani.

Love!!!!

Love, It's great!!! I think so! You ask why, well let me tell you! When you are in love you have the world at your feet. You don't worry, you just believe! You have faith that all is possible and the only limits distance and time. But, love is unstoppable! It's true. You can't stop it, you can only keep adding to it and allowing it to be strong. I am in Love and I love it. That is why there is no blue only time and distance. To my LOVE I love you!

Registration . . .

Being a freshman bites . . . . I have hashed and re-hashed my schedule a million times because I can't register till the last day when all the classes will be gone. . . well I am enduring, but only by a little bit. I will defeate this social ladder and mount the top of this pecking order, eventually, but until then, to all my freshman friends, I feel your pain. Justice will come with time!!!
